Hometown: Dallas, Texas

Education: I attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education and I am in my Junior year.

Current Career Path: I would like to graduate with my Masters from Texas Tech University, move back to Dallas and start my career as an elementary school teacher. I would love to teach third or fourth grade.

Pageant Experience: I have been competing in pageants since I was 17 (2007). I competed in another pageant system three years in a row. I received third runner-up in 2008 and second runner-up in 2009. Also in 2009, I competed in U.S. Runway Miss and received first runner-up. In 2010, I decided to give it my all and compete again for U.S. Runway Miss. I loved competing the first year because the pageant had so much to offer and I learned a lot about fashion, working the runway, and my interview skills. My hard work paid off because I took home the crown! It was an amazing experience and I am so blessed to be U.S. Runway Miss 2010!!

Favorite thing about being involved in pageantry: My favorite things about being involved in pageantry include learning interviewing skills and how to speak to large audiences on the spot. This has been one of the best things that I have learned by competing in pageants because I have to give many presentations in college and I feel very comfortable because of the experience I have had in pageantry. Also, I love all of the new friends that I make at each pageant. It is so fun to meet other girls that are interested in pageantry too. Another favorite thing that I love is each pageant, I learn more about myself and what I need to work on. I think that to be truly successful, you always have to seek improvement within yourself. I have learned so much about my self-esteem, self-confidence, poise, and overall, how to be the best that I can be.

Favorite fashion trend: My favorite fashion trend right now is boots boots boots! Boots are great for fall because there are an array of different styles and colors to fit every girls’ fashion trend. They are perfect for any outfit because they can be worn with pants, jeans, skirts, and dresses. Another reason I love boots is because I can wear them with a casual outfit or with a more dressy look. They are very versatile.
