Jenna Doddridge
Hometown: I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. I feel like El Paso is a wonderful place to live because of the diversity it offers. I was able to grow up alongside the Mexican culture, learning Spanish, eating “real” Mexican food, and having the opportunity to go over
to Juarez.
Education: I am currently a freshman at New Mexico State University where I am majoring in Psychology. One of my favorite things about NMSU is that it is located in a small town where everyone comes out to support the Aggies at many events. I believe it is extremely important to give back to those who need help, which is one of the reasons I chose to join the Delta Zeta sorority.
Dream Career Path: My dream career is to be a famous model/actress. It is something that I work everyday to achieve. Despite this being my dream, I have to be realistic and know that it may not happen, which is why I am studying Psychology. I would like to be a child psychologist that specializes in abuse and rape cases.
Pageant Experience:My first pageant experience was actually this past year at the 2011 New Mexico Runway Teen Pageant. The reason I decided to enter for the first time at seventeen years old was because it incorporated the modeling aspect. For being so new to the system, I never imagined I would actually be crowned the winner! From there I went to the 2011 U.S. Runway Teen Pageant, where much to my surprise, I was crowned as well!
Favorite thing about being involved in pageantry: My favorite part of my pageantry experience was getting to know myself and growing as a person. I never realized how much time and dedication it takes. I set my mind on winning and didn’t give up until I had achieved my goal. I stuck to my diet and exercise schedule and was constantly practicing my walk and interview questions. While practicing for the interview round, I had my mother asking me questions I had never thought about before. It really allowed me to dig deep inside of myself, which allowed me to grow so much more.
Favorite fashion trend: I love fashion way too much to have just one favorite trend! I love wearing pencil skirts with shirts tucked into them. I also love putting skinny belts on top of dresses to add a little more to the outfit. My favorite jewelry tend however is Betsey Johnson. I can’t seem to get enough of her jewelry! They are so cute and unique. You can find something in her line to match any outfit you might have.
